Aura Minerals Inc. (the "Company") is a Canadian-based company focused on the acquisition, exploration, development, and operation of mining properties in the Americas. The Company recently announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire a 100% interest in three producing gold mines from Yamana Gold Inc., being the San Andres mine in Honduras and the Sao Francisco and Sao Vicente mines in Brazil. With this acquisition, The Company will become a mid-tier gold producer with approximately 220,000 ounces of gold production annually. In addition, the Company plans to restart its 100%-owned Aranzazu Copper-Gold-Silver Mine in Mexico in 2010, and is focused on a staged expansion to deliver production growth, while conducting a significant exploration program to increase the confidence level of the current resource classification and to expand the large resource base. The Company is also advancing the feasibility-stage Serrote da Laje Copper/Gold/Iron Ore project, located in Alagoas State, Brazil. The project is located in an area of excellent infrastructure with water, power, roads and a rail line all within the project boundary. The rail system also connects the project to several deep water ports. The Company is well financed and has an experienced management team in place.
The Company also controls several early stage gold and base metals properties in Northern Brazil.
