| Arapiraca Project Aranzazu Project Other Brazilian Properties | Overview The Company has several early stage gold exploration projects located in the Carajas region of Northern Brazil, which is host to several world-class projects. Cumaru Project (see Other Brazilian Properties Photo Section - Cumaru) View NI 43-101 Techncial Report Cumaru is located in the Gradaus greenstone belt, a district which has produced several million ounces of gold, mainly from rich alluvial deposits exploited by garimpeiros (artisanal miner). The Company controls over 35 kilometres of the Gradaus greenstone belt, only 2 kilometres of which has been explored by modern methods. The Company is completed 27 diamond drill holes, for a total of 4,388 metres of drilling, which confirmed the presence of weak gold mineralization in suphide-bearing veinlets in altered granodiorite. The Company is currently defining drill targets for follow-up in 2008. North Carajas Belt Project (see Other Brazilian Properties Photo Section - North Carajas Belt) The North Carajás claims have historically been explored for copper, nickel and diamonds. Gold occurrences are known throughout the Archean and Early Proterozoric rock sequences of the regions. The Company commenced a regional reconnaissance exploration program in 2007 and is continuing into 2008. Where the program has indicated areas of low potential, such areas have been dropped by the Company to reduce holding costs. All areas of interest continue to be held by the Company. Inajá Greenstone Belt Project (see Other Brazilian Properties Photo Section - Inaja Greenstone Belt) Inaja Greenstone Belt is located approximately 90 kilometres south of Cumaru, and shows excellent potential to host economic mineral deposits, with two large artisanal gold working areas. The Company has completed geological, geochemical and geophysical reconnaissance programs which defined a gold target at the eastern part of the belt and a nickel target at the western end of the belt. The Company has also completed 16 drill holes for a total of 2,688 metres of drilling. In the extreme west of the greenstone belt are extensive units of ultramafic rock in which the Company has identified significant nickel anomalies in soil samples. Additional work is being carried out in order to determine drill targets. A major iron occurrence has also recently been identified at the Inaja Greenstone Belt during a reconnaissance program. The Company launched a comprehensive program to test and evaluate this iron occurrence, defined by extensive units of banded iron formation formed by alternate bands of hematitic and siliceous material. Several massive hematite units have been encountered along the southern foot of the Inaja range. Continuous chip sampling from these hematitic units have returned assay ranging from 40% Fe to greater than 50% Fe. These units are open along strike. The Company is planning a drilling campaign to verify the width, grade and down-dip extensions of these hematitic units during the third quarter of 2008. |
